Our Mission
Malibu Education Foundation (MEF) is a community driven fundraising organization dedicated to enhancing the educational journey of every student in Malibu public schools.
MEF funds staff and staffed programs which would otherwise not be funded by the Santa Monica Malibu Unified School District, but are roles which our schools sites and parent leaders consider necessary for a quality education. MEF ensures every student, at every school and in every grade, has the opportunity to thrive academically, physically, and creatively.
Founded in 2024, MEF provides a means for the community to invest in superior public education for students attending Malibu schools.
Initially, MEF will fund core support roles such as instructional aides in elementary school (4 per school) and math tutors in our secondary schools, as well as enrich existing programs such as art and athletics with additional staff. As we grow, our impact on our schools will grow to providing staffing support for more rigorous academics and a breadth of educational experiences from kindergarten through high school.
MEF is a California non-profit, public benefit, corporation. It is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The federal tax ID number for the foundation (EIN) is 99-1029697. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
